TL; DR: A highly-skilled, caring, passionate lawyer who works hard to ensure the best outcomes for the individuals he represents. I’m currently studying law and preparing to go into the legal field, and have been looking for experience in real-world legal settings; a few days ago, Mr. Balian was generous enough to let me sit in on a number of his consultations and court cases. As a third-party (not paid by Mr. Balian or anyone else involved in the cases), I figured an unbiased review could help others decide if Mr. Balian’s services are the right fit for them. I noticed immediately that Mr. Balian both dressed and acted in a professional manner. He was on time, friendly to his clients, and concisely explained each defendant’s charges and legal rights to them. After providing advice to each client regarding what they should do to minimize their sentences, Mr. Balian worked with them to determine if they found his solutions to be agreeable. Even when clients asked what could only be described as ‘dumb’ questions, Mr. Balian kept his composure and answered calmly, in a way which they could better understand. Mr. Balian appeared equally at home in the courtroom, where he explained each client’s situation in a manner which was easy for the judge to comprehend. He made compelling cases for each individual, and was able to significantly reduce or eliminate their jail time entirely. While I admittedly don’t have extensive experience in court, Mr. Balian’s ability to help minimize clients’ sentences truly impressed me. Even in what I would consider to be a lost-cause case, Mr. Balian delivered a heartfelt closing statement; while he could have simply let the judge hand down their sentence, Mr. Balian went the extra mile to ensure that his client was represented as well as they could possibly be. In the end, it was worth the effort; that individual’s sentence was also massively reduced. From my time spent observing Mr. Balian, I honestly can’t find a negative point to make about him. I had read the previous two reviews prior to my observation, and came into court with mixed expectations. I’m pleased to report that I couldn’t verify any of the negative claims Jeff made, and was thoroughly impressed with how Mr. Balian approached his clients’ cases. He’s intelligent, knows how to work the law to his clients’ favor, and cares about the people he represents. If I ever found myself in legal trouble and needed representation, Mr. Balian would, without doubt, be the first person I called. 5/5
